Shells is an installation of my various experimentations and iterations of abstracted ceramic and fiber figure sculptures made with handbuilding, dyeing, and printing processes, featuring my paper and fiber sculpture, Basket Case. Here, I’m playing with the idea of translating one material into another by hand dyeing and collaging materials, then photographing and digitally printing them onto fabric that can be maniulated and re-worked into a new form, effectively converting sculpture to 2D to fabric to sculpture.
