Feature Focus

Feature Focus is my response to the simple prompt of enlarging an object. I wanted to play with the idea of scaling up distinctive features, especially ones deemed “too large” by their owners. While my first boyfriend’s nose was a source of insecurity for him, I came to associate it with masculinity, vulnerability, and close touch. This piece aims to juxtapose the ideas of a spectacle versus a display, especially through the lense of cultural beauty standards.
